Boarding and Day Schools

Living and learning community

“The Landheim is more than just a school; here I’ve found friendships for life!”

“For me and for both of my brothers, the Landheim has become a second home in Germany.”

What we often try to clarify with many words, our children have put into a nutshell: “The Landheim is more than just a school!”

A cooperative education, encouraging a willingness to help, a sense of justice, sincerity, dedication and responsibility could never find more fertile ground than in the shared life of our campus community.

Here students and teachers spend the entire day together and go through the mundane aspects everyday life side by side. Experiencing another facet of a person, which perhaps cannot be glimpsed in the classroom, requires really getting to know one another and developing mutual respect. Interpersonal skills must be learned and cultivated.

Students from diverse cultures find common interests through music and athletics or through shared perspectives and mutual concerns. The fruits of such interaction are often friendships for life.

The mentor system, consisting of mentors from the middle and upper schools who support lower school students and help them adjust to boarding school life, contributes positively to creating a welcoming atmosphere in our campus community.
