Philosophy
Take time for the future so that students become personalities.
The Landheim Schondorf sees its reform pedagogical approach as a basis which provides a framework and leaves room for the development of our students into mature, independent personalities. School, social development and free time combine to form a single unity working toward this goal. The children are thereby taught the validity of self-responsibility, a willingness to achieve and consideration of others in all areas of life. Students here profit from the small size of our campus and classes, from the most up-to-date multimedia learning tools and from individual encouragement.
Through the active and creative completion of assignments our students learn to cope with the rapidly changing demands of the future. To this end the students' general secondary school education is expanded through experiential classroom projects and the mastering of practical skills in our workshops and in the arts. Students are encouraged in an open atmosphere to articulate their own vision and ideas and to carry them out in school projects. The 'Ring', our school's student council, is an important forum in this respect. We expect and encourage the cooperation and initiative of our student body. This early taking-on of responsibility prepares our young people for leadership roles both in society and in the service of society. Here we train students in the areas of communication skills and goal-oriented networking for their later professional lives.
The goal is the strengthening of the community by means of strong personalities which lead to the development of readiness and the people skills necessary for shaping the future. To this end we train the talents and abilities of our students through a variety of courses and programs. Team spirit, self-confidence and the ambition to prove oneself are encouraged through a comprehensive range of athletic and free-time opportunities. Through our international exchange programs and open-minded campus culture we strive to hone our students' awareness about both the responsibilities connected with an increasingly globalized world and the possibilities available to each individual.

Take time for the future with the joy of learning and friends for life.
For many students the sole pedagogical goal is an excellent academic education. The Landheim's educational ideal understands such an education simply to be a precondition for further objectives: we would like to provide young people with a holistic education, which prepares them extensively for the requirements of the futures.
Developing personal responsibility, independent action and a capacity for teamwork in conjunction with key qualifications is becoming more and more important. For many years now we have therefore been introducing the most modern technology for the provision of information.
During lessons students take a central and active role. The teacher often becomes less a provider of knowledge and more an assistant and partner in the learning process. Accordingly, student-centered teaching practices, like autonomous practical learning in group and independent work, projects, excursions, professional internships, stays abroad and guidance counseling, are coming to the fore.
This is facilitated by our small class and learning group size, which allows for individual attention to students both in class and during the completion of homework.
Our teachers are also available to students outside of class. They strive to encourage each student optimally according to his or her needs.
Free time
Take time for the future during freetime, through the arts, trades and athletics
The activity in our school's workshop is an important element of our holistic education based on the motto, "mind, heart and hand".
In this forum a bridge is built between corporal and intellectual labor. Some students prove themselves in individual workshops to such a great extent that they find there the confidence, which they sometimes lack in class, with its predominantly intellectual demands.
Our students design their afternoon program based on their own needs and preferences.
